Why should I work with specialised recruiters instead of applying directly?

Most of the candidates have worked with recruiters before. While some found it useful, some candidates are still very skeptical about applying jobs through recruiters. What is your view?


What can recruiters offer me?


“I have been looking for a perfect position for my career growth for months and I finally found this exclusive role via Oakham Partners.”

No matter how many years you have worked in a specific industry, specialised recruiters still probably have better connections in your market than you do since this is their day to day job to connect with senior hiring managers and candidates. Therefore, they know more about what is happening in the industry and the good recruiters will know exclusive position that is not advertised on public job boards.


I have tried to apply for similar positions before but never even got an interview chance. Oakham Partners helped me got three different interviews.”

Specialised recruiters do not just work with the Human Resources team. A lot of the times, recruiters meet and speak with the hiring managers directly to present your profile in front of them. Recruiters share what they know about you and why you have the potential to take on a role that you might not already have the experience in.

This is an advantage for candidates who are looking to take up a more senior role even though they might not have management experience before.


What is your view?


I have heard from a lot of candidates that they have had bad experience working with recruiters before and therefore reluctant to talk to any recruiter ever since.
